Where Clipart10 art comes from
Not every file is made the same way. The license page covers what you may do with a download; this page covers how the picture was produced.
Hand-drawn for the site
The first library shapes—dog, coffee, book, and the rest of the seed set—were drawn as flat SVG in the Clipart10 palette. Redraws from public-domain photo references are new drawings too; the photo is not the file you download.

On-site generator (not hand-drawn)
A separate pipeline builds simple icons from code recipes (stars, buses, hearts, and similar). They are original flat SVG in the same colors, but they are not pencil or tablet art. Source keys start with original-gen.
Stylized from image search (Bing pipeline)
Some drafts start from a web image search result used only as a reference. The PNG is flattened to the brand palette and vectorized. That reference is not what we ship as the final clipart.
Catalog imports
Some files are public-domain catalog items. They use a simple license label on the page and stay on a separate drip schedule.
What we call “original”
On Clipart10, “original” usually means you get a flat file made for this site—not a stock photo pasted as-is. It does not automatically mean “hand-drawn.” Check the license label on each drawing when it matters for your project.
